About San Siro Stadium
Officially the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, San Siro opened on 19 September 1926 and celebrated its centenary in 2026. The eleven concrete towers wrapped in spiral ramps, added for the 1990 World Cup, carry the third tier and the red-girdered roof. In February 2026 it hosted the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.
AC Milan and Inter bought the stadium from the city in November 2025 and plan a new ground nearby, with most of the current bowl due to come down in the early 2030s. For now, matches and tours carry on, so this is a good moment to see it as it is.
Know before you go
- On match and event days the route is shortened and some areas close.
- The Museum & Tour entrance is beside Gate 6 on Piazzale Angelo Moratti.
- Bags and bulky items are left in a storage area at the entrance.
- Preparatory works for the new stadium are under way around the ground.
