A Renaissance city you can walk

Florence's historic centre is small enough to cross on foot in half an hour. In that walk you pass the Duomo's red-tiled dome, Giotto's marble bell tower, the long Uffizi courtyard and the goldsmiths' shops on the Ponte Vecchio. Most state museums close on Mondays, so plan your week around that. Our entry tickets come with an audio guide and, where the venue offers it, a reserved time slot, so you can go at your own pace. For more depth, join a guide at the Accademia, make pizza and gelato in a city-centre kitchen, or head into Tuscany: Pisa's Leaning Tower, Siena's shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, the towers of San Gimignano and the vineyards of Chianti.
