About Musée de l'Orangerie
Monet planned these rooms himself. His eight Water Lilies canvases, each two metres high, wrap around two oval galleries lit from above, and they went on show in 1927, months after his death. 2026 marks a hundred years since he died, and the exhibition 'Monet, painting time' runs until 25 January 2027.
Downstairs, the Walter-Guillaume collection adds Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, Modigliani and Soutine in a compact, easy-to-read hang.
