About Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum

Dr Dinkar Gangadhar Kelkar began collecting around 1920, and the museum he founded holds about 22,000 everyday and fine objects, from lamps to musical instruments.

Its best-known exhibit is Mastani Mahal, a palace hall built in 1734 by Bajirao I in Kothrud, which Dr Kelkar had taken apart and rebuilt inside the museum.
