About Ronda

Ronda stands on a plateau cut in two by the Guadalevín river's gorge, El Tajo, more than 100 metres deep, with the old town on the south side and the newer town on the north. The Puente Nuevo, 98 metres high, joins them; it was begun in 1759 and opened in 1793, and its central chamber now holds an interpretation centre.

The town is the end point of the white-towns route through the Sierra de Grazalema, and a day trip from Seville usually pairs it with villages such as Zahara de la Sierra and Setenil de las Bodegas.
