About Govind Dev Temple
Raja Man Singh of Amber built Govind Dev with the Goswamis of Vrindavan between about 1575 and 1590, during Akbar's reign. Its red sandstone hall is laid out in the shape of a cross.
The original image of Govind Dev was taken to Jaipur for safety in the early 1700s; worship continues here with a later image.
