About Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi

Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura marks the place where Hindus believe Krishna was born in a prison cell of King Kansa. The present complex dates from the 1950s and includes the Keshavdev temple, the Garbha Griha shrine built as the prison cell, the Bhagavata Bhavan and the Potra Kund tank.

Security is tight: phones, bags and cameras must be left in the cloakroom before you enter.
