About Verona
Verona's Arena was built in the 1st century AD and still fills for summer opera; in February 2026 it hosted the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics. From Piazza Bra, Via Mazzini leads to Piazza delle Erbe, once the Roman forum, now ringed by frescoed houses and the 84-metre Torre dei Lamberti.
Juliet's House draws crowds to its famous balcony, and since April 2026 the courtyard has timed, paid entry. Cross Ponte Pietra, the city's Roman bridge, for views back over the river. The whole historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Know before you go

- The Arena can close early on opera nights in summer.
- The historic centre is a limited-traffic zone, so cars stop outside it.
- Marble paving in the centre can be slippery when wet.
