About Musée Picasso Paris

The Hôtel Salé was built in the 1650s for Pierre Aubert de Fontenay, who grew rich collecting the salt tax, hence the nickname. Its grand stone staircase now leads to more than 5,000 works that came from Picasso's own estate.

Expect paintings, sculpture, ceramics and sketchbooks from every period, plus pieces from Picasso's private collection. Rooms are re-hung often, so each visit differs. The Marais's cafés and boutiques are on the doorstep.
