About Plaza de España

Seville built Plaza de España for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, at the edge of María Luisa Park. Its curved brick building wraps around a canal crossed by tiled bridges, and the benches along its front are set in alcoves decorated with painted tiles, one for each Spanish province.

It is free to walk in, and it is the start of our city walk, which goes on through the Santa Cruz quarter to the Cathedral and the Setas.
