About this experience

The story
UNESCO listed the Cultural Landscape of Sintra in 1995 as the first centre of European Romantic architecture, its palaces and parks set in the hills above the coast.
At Cabo da Roca, a cross carries Camões's line 'where the land ends and the sea begins'. Cascais, at the end of the coast road, became the royal family's summer resort from 1870.
