About this experience
A day of unlimited rides on open-top buses with recorded commentary, linking Buckingham Palace, Westminster, St Paul's, the Tower of London and South Kensington.

The story
Trafalgar Square was named in 1830 and laid out to Charles Barry's plan. Nelson's Column, designed by William Railton to honour the victor of Trafalgar in 1805, went up in 1843, and Edwin Landseer's bronze lions followed in 1867.
At Westminster the Great Clock began ticking on 31 May 1859 and the Great Bell, Big Ben, first struck on 11 July that year; the tower was renamed the Elizabeth Tower in 2012. Further west, Queen Victoria became the first sovereign to rule from Buckingham Palace in 1837.
