- Check in at Victoria Coach Station by 7:45 for the 8:00 departure; back about 20:00. Around 6 hours on the coach in all.
- Tour days
- Thursday to Monday only, as Windsor Castle closes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. St George's Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays.
- Security
- Airport-style checks at Windsor and a detector at the Roman Baths. Bring no large luggage; rucksacks over 30 litres aren't allowed in the Baths.
- Ages
- Every traveller needs a coach seat, so under-3s can't join. Ages 3–17 pay the child price.
- Weather
- Stonehenge stands on open downland: bring a waterproof and a warm layer. Lunch isn't included.
The story
William the Conqueror built the first castle at Windsor in the 1070s, and the outer walls still follow its line. A fire on 20 November 1992 damaged or destroyed 9 principal rooms and over 100 others; the restoration was finished on 20 November 1997.
Stonehenge began as a circular ditch and bank dug about 3000 BC. Around 2500 BC the great sarsens and the smaller bluestones were set up in the centre. UNESCO listed it with Avebury in 1986.
Bath grew up in the 1st century AD, when the Romans built a baths complex and the Temple of Sulis Minerva around its hot springs. The Georgian spa town followed in the 18th century, and UNESCO listed the city in 1987.

- No tours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when Windsor Castle is closed.
