About Louvre Museum

From the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo to the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Louvre holds eight millennia of art across the wings of a former royal palace around I. M. Pei's glass pyramid.

It's vast — pick two or three wings rather than trying to see everything.

Know before you go

  • Timed entry — reserve a slot even with a museum pass
  • Use the Carrousel underground entrance to skip the pyramid queue
  • The Mona Lisa room gets packed — go in the first or last hour
  • Large luggage isn't allowed; lockers are available for small bags
