The story
The walk crosses Place des Vosges, first called the Place Royale. Victor Hugo lived at no. 6, the Hôtel de Rohan-Guéménée, from 1832 to 1848, and his flat opened as a museum on 30 June 1903.
France has two food traditions on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage: the gastronomic meal of the French, inscribed in 2010, and the artisanal know-how and culture of baguette bread, inscribed in 2022. A baguette uses only 4 ingredients: flour, water, salt and leaven or yeast.
